AbstractEnvironmental Education Didactics II covers the planning, implementation and reflection of comprehensive teaching units. The major focus will be put on an intensive discussion of the didactical analysis and the use of extensive teaching methods. The objective is a selective and effective use.
Learning objectiveThe objective is to compare and match educational models resp. teaching methods with current research findings.
The students
- learn to make a detailed analysis of didactic lessons to learn a broad topic by different sources, they will review, procure materials and reflect on the relevance of the topic of their choice and access to vocational, technical, didactic, and possibly social terms.
- make a semester plan autonomously.
- use and reflect on appropriate teaching methods in the context of various teaching-learning strategies within practice lessons.
- arrange the conditions of teaching for their target groups.
ContentUnterrichtseinheiten (mehrere Lektionen) werden unter Berücksichtigung verschiedener Lehr-Lern-Strategien (Direkte Instruktion, Adaptive Instruktion, Entdeckenlassendes Lehren, Problemorientiertes Lehren, Kooperative Lehrarrangements, Selbstgesteuertes Lernen) konzipiert und praktisch umgesetzt.

AbstractThe mentored paper is designed to bring together the findings from the 701-0823-00L Environmental Education Didactics I Information and the 701-0825-10L Environmental Education Didactics II. By using various teaching techniques and methods a semester plan, which is based on various curricula will be ellaborated for a given topic.
Learning objective1. The students have planned a curriculum for a semester course.

2. Students reflect on formative and summative ways such a teaching unit to examine and implement parts of it.

3. The students have implemented parts of the semester curriculum.

4. The students deal with the question to what extend teaching techniques, teaching methods but also sequences of self-study must be involved in the planning.
ContentSemester Planning
The students plan on the basis of the given curricula a teaching sequence. The resulting learning process is divided in phases with respect to a reasonable rhythm selecting different teaching methods.

Contents
The students consider different principles (eg exemplarity, competence-orientation, systematic knowledge building), so that learners understand the contents and relate them to professional practice.

Self-study
The students deal with various forms of self-study (moderated self-study, learning journal, PBL, case studies, etc.) and their integration in the semester plan. In addition to the formulation and determination of elements for self-study, they consider how they can check their effectiveness.

Tests
The students use adequate various types of examinations. They consider formative and summative ways. For this purpose they formulate test questions and tasks to match the objectives in the curriculum and semester schedule. The use of appropriate literature is required

Literature Study
The mentored assessment requires a specific study of literature which must be cited accordingly.
Lecture notesA manual gives the students a guideline how to proceed.
LiteratureThe use of appropriate literature is part of the grading.
