AbstractThis course provides an overview of the main natural hazards and their importance in a national and international context. The probability, risk and implications of various natural hazards will be discussed, along with potential management options. The course consists of introductory lectures and exercises, seminars with guest lectures by experts and a field trip.
Learning objectiveBy the end of the course, students will be able to:

• explain the main natural hazards, their processes and their importance in different contexts.
• describe the likelihood, risk, and consequences of natural hazards and their management options.
• identify and discuss the development of natural hazards in the context of climate change.

30 % Quizes: Jeder thematische Block wird mit einem Online Quiz zusammengefasst.
30 % Übungen: deren Grundlage in den wöchentlichen Übungsstunden erarbeitet werden.
30 % Abschlussprüfung, die in der letzten Woche vor Weihnachten stattfindet
10 % Aktive Vorbereitung und Teilnahme an der Exkursion am 05.10.2024 oder 26.10.2024.

Krankheitsbedingt, verpasste Exkursionen müssen mit einer Ersatzleistung kompensiert werden.
