| Additional information on mode of examination | The written examination accounts for 70% of the final grade. In addition to the final written examination, there is a compulsory continuous performance assessment in the form of four practical laboratory units. Of these four laboratory sessions, at least three must be prepared and attended in order to pass the course. Preparation and active participation means that each student has to keep a laboratory book in which materials & methods, personal observations, results and comments on each laboratory are reported. This transcript is handed in directly after the laboratory session and will be graded. The average of the best three written records counts 30% to the final grade. |
