Abstract | During the bedside week, students will have the opportunity to see patients in internal medicine as well as surgery and discuss these cases in detail. In addition, hands-on classes will be held (syringe and suture classes) and students will discuss current radiology and dermatology cases. |
Learning objective | The students will be able to perform a status on a patient. be familiar with common clinical pictures in internal medicine and surgery. be able to inject syringes. be able to suture wounds. be familiar with common pathologies in dermatology. learn to interpret radiographs of common pathologies. |
Content | The bedside week is designed to give students the opportunity to work with real patients in the hospital. They will see patients and learn to do a status on the patient. They will see up to 4 internal medicine and surgery patients over 4 mornings to learn about the most common pathologies. In the afternoon, students will have the opportunity to practice suturing wounds and injecting syringes in hands-on classes. On another afternoon, they will gain insight into common pathologies in dermatology and learn to interpret x-rays in the radiology course. |
