Key terms: Substitution or disruption, organisation and “lean management”
Learning objective
Module 2 presents the origins and breadth of applications involved in automation and the conditions it requires, enabling participants to recognise the potential of these areas in a value-creation chain in which software and machines take over specific working steps.
Content
Ever since the first industrial age, the automation of repetitive processes has been continuously transforming the processes and competences involved in the manufacturing industries. In relation to the building industry, it represents both an opportunity and a risk, since software is increasingly responding to individualised aspects of the planning, construction and usage of buildings.
An introduction to the scripting language Python is intended to familiarize participants with thinking in terms of data.
