AbstractIntroduction to the concepts and tools in physics with the help of demonstration experiments: electromagnetism, optics, introduction to modern physics.
ObjectiveThe concepts and tools in physics, as well as the methods of an experimental science are taught. The student should learn to identify, communicate and solve physical problems in his/her own field of science.
ContentElectromagnetism (electric current, magnetic fields, electromagnetic induction, magnetic materials, Maxwell's equations)
Optics (light, geometrical optics, interference and diffraction)
Short introduction to quantum physics

Additional information on mode of examinationACHTUNG: Die folgenden Angaben betreffen den JAHRESKURS Physik I und II.
Als Lernelement wird die aktive Teilnahme im Übungsbetrieb bewertet. Für eine erfolgreiche aktive Teilnahme wird erwartet, dass in jedem Semester 50% der Übungsserien selbständig bearbeitet und eingereicht wurden. Ist die aktive Teilnahme für beide Semester erfüllt, wird die ungerundete Prüfungsnote um 0.25 Notenpunkte ergänzt.
Written aids1 Blatt (A4) selbstgeschr. Zusammenfassung; Fremdwörterlexikon; 1TR (auch grafikfähig); aber keine Laptops, PDAs, Mobiltelefone, etc.; Tipler Zusammenfassungen (von Kapitelende) wird in Prüf. ausgeteilt.
