AbstractArabic I leads to A1.1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. It is the first part (A1.1 level) of a four-semester Arabic course. The goal of the course is for participants to acquire basic language skills in speaking, listening comprehension, and the reading and writing of Arabic script
ObjectiveParticipants are able to use the Arabic language adequately in selected areas. The focus is on speaking; reading and listening comprehension at A1.1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; learning Arabic script; and the development of cultural competence. The following content areas are embedded in various communicative tasks: Greeting each other, introducing yourself and speaking about yourself (personal and professional identity, place of residence), making simple phone calls, requesting information, and making appointments.
