This course aims to deepen students' understanding of the foundations of agricultural economics and presents empirical applications. The main research areas covered are the analysis of markets, policies, and farmers' decision making.
Learning objective
After the successful completion of the course, students are able to use economic concepts to analyse research questions and practical problems in the area of agricultural and food economics.

using case studies from Europe and developing countries, various concepts are taught. The main topics are i) producer decisions, agribusiness, policies, markets, agricultural systems in developing countries
