This lecture series provides a comprehensive overview of the most important aspects of clinical exercise testing for diagnosis and assessment of functional status in different patient populations, e.g. patients with pulmonary, cardiac or neuro-muscular disease, with obesity, young or old age. Also, special aspects in the context of training perscriptions in these populations will be discussed.
Learning objective
By the end of this module, students: - Have the theoretical basis for disease-specific exercise testing and interpretation in clinical settings - Know important aspects for disease-specific exercise-training prescriptions and assessment of training progress - Are able to critically review and interpret scientific literature in the context of physical fitness, performance and training in different patient populations
