KurzbeschreibungBased on up to date techniques, the course discusses the link between nutrients availability to plants and their chemical forms in soil/fertilizer/plant systems using phosphorus as an example. This class covers theoretical aspects, laboratory work, data analysis, and the analysis of publications.
LernzielAt the end of this course students are familiar with the principles on which radioisotopic techniques and nuclear magnetic resonance are based to measure nutrient availability and forms, respectively. Students understand the advantages and limits of these techniques. They understand how the chemical form of a nutrient can affect its availability to plants, and the relevance of this information for developing crop ferilization schemes.
