Discussion of fundamentals of electromagnetics and various applications (wave propagation, scattering, antennas, waveguides, bandgap materials, etc.). Numerical methods suited for the analysis of electromagnetic fields and for the optimal design of electromagnetic structures.
Learning objective
Knowledge about classical electromagnetics, main applications, and appropriate numerical methods.
Prerequisites / Notice
Students study a selected topic and give a 15-30 minutes presentation towards the end of the semester. The topic and the supervisor is defined in a discussion with C. Hafner or J. Leuthold.
