gta-re-vue: Workshop on the occasion of the 50th jubilee of the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture
Learning objective
The development of the material is conceived as a joint form-finding process. The basic idea is to create a revue-like series of various "numbers": a dynamic mixture of book and lecture texts, historical documents and spontaneously evolving conversations. The final product will be performed by workshop contributors during the anniversary celebrations.
Content
The motivation behind the workshop is to focus on the beginnings of the gta on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. Among the founding fathers there were fascinating protagonists such as Adolf Max Vogt, Bernhard Hoesli, and Paul Hofer. Based on an understanding of their concepts, methods and ideas, a text collage will culminate in a script for a one-hour-long performance reading. In addition to the graphically significant gta publications produced at this time ("Rainbow"- books), contemporary image and film materials can be integrated as well as interviews with contemporary witnesses and the present gta chair. The result intends both contextualization as well as critical revision.
