Based on current leadership research and practical examples from different industries (technology-based start-ups to large companies in services and production) requirements for leadership in the face of fast innovation cycles, self-management in teams, and continued need for managerial control are discussed.
Learning objective
Students reflect on the demands for today´s leaders to be responsive to concurrent needs for stability, control, flexibility and adaptivity. They learn from case examples how leaders manage this challenge. They discuss the applicability of these examples for their own work situation and derive steps to take in their own companies.
