Abstract | This course will cover the basic topics in Physics and will show/display/explain with a variety of experiments the most important physical effects. The course will address classical as well as modern physics, and the interplay between basic research and applications.
Learning objective | This lecture aims to provide an experimental understanding of basic physics concepts, both classical as well as modern. Whenever possible the lecture should allow establishing a link between theory and applications. The overall goals should be achieved via demonstration experiments in the lecture hall and focused exercise classes.
Content | Electrodynamics, Thermodynamics, Quantum physics, Waves and Oscillations, special relativity
Lecture notes | german manuscript and exercises
Literature | Hans J. Paus, Physik in Experimenten und Beispielen, Carl Hanser Verlag München Wien (als unterrichtsbegleitendes und ergänzendes Lehrbuch)
